Episode 3 | Post has been kidnapped?
The rain over Storm Valley had barely subsided when a single, obsidian raven slammed its beak against the weathered sill of Christobal The Vision’s parlor window. Inside the dimly lit room, scented with burning sage and heavy incense, the wise fortune teller paused. He reached out, his fingertips brushing the cold, wet feathers, and untied a scrap of crimson-stained parchment bound to the bird's leg.
The note was written in cursive by an anonymous hand: The Flock leader has clipped wings. The Pachinos hold him where the salt meets the dead iron.
Christobal’s breath hitched. His brother, Cyborg Post, had been taken.
Without a word of hesitation, Christobal hurried to the Dragon’s Leaf tea shop, finding Master Liu Fong and Chris Faultly organizing the bruised and battered ninjas after the night's earlier skirmishes. Upon hearing the news, Chris’s fists clenched so hard his knuckles turned white.
Knowing they needed raw, unbridled muscle to crack a Pachino stronghold, Liu Fong dispatched a rider to find Eddie Vega, the legendary sledgehammer-swinging enforcer known for tearing through concrete walls like wet tissue paper. Within the hour, a rugged convoy of armored muscle cars and custom motorcycles tore through the neon-drenched asphalt of Storm Valley, heading toward the sprawling industrial expanse of the far east docks.
The raid was instantaneous and devastating. Eddie Vega didn’t bother with stealth; he swung his massive sledgehammer into the rusted steel gates of Building 51, shattering the locks and sending Pachino henchmen flying into shipping crates. Chris and the elite ninjas swarmed the perimeter, moving like a dark wave through the maze of stacked containers, clashing steel against the syndicate’s enforcers in a brutal, chaotic war.
Inside the core of Building 51, the air was thick with smoke and malice. Cyborg Post was chained securely to a reinforced steel chair, his cybernetic plating flickering weakly as Frankie Bones towered over him, landing a vicious, bone-rattling punch to Post’s face. Across the concrete floor, Frankie’s brother, Tony Pachino, leaned against a stack of crates, casually puffing on a fat cigar while watching the torture with a cold grin.
"You're out of your depth, machine," Frankie sneered, rearing back for another strike.
Suddenly, the heavy metal doors buckled under a barrage of blows from Eddie Vega’s sledgehammer. The wall gave way, and Eddie stormed inside, locking eyes with Frankie Bones.
"Leave the metal man alone, clown," Eddie growled.
What followed was a titanic, earth-shaking brawl. Eddie swung his heavy hammer with crushing force, but Frankie Bones countered with brutal, street-brawling fury, trading bone-crushing blows that echoed off the corrugated iron walls.
Outside, the tropical storm suddenly reversed its fury. Dozens of ravens descended from the black clouds, screeching as they began circling Building 51 in a tight, dizzying vortex. A massive bolt of crackling, otherworldly energy pierced the rooftop, striking Cyborg Post directly in his chest.
Post’s optical sensor flared blindingly bright. He let out a deafening, inhuman roar that shook the foundations of the warehouse. With a violent surge of newfound superhuman strength, he snapped the heavy industrial steel chains like dry twigs, shattering the chair into splinters.
The tide of the battle shifted instantly. Armed henchmen who had been gaining ground suddenly found themselves thrown across the room like ragdolls as Post, fueled by anomalous energy, tore through their ranks. Seeing their enforcers decimated and the cybernetic leader unstoppable, Tony Pachino panicked, grabbing a battered Frankie from his fight with Eddie.
"Move! We're getting out of here!" Tony yelled, scrambling out the back exit and diving into the leather-lined interior of a stretched black limousine as it peeled away into the night.
Hours later, back at the quiet sanctuary of the tea shop, the adrenaline had faded into a tense, contemplative silence. Liu Fong poured steaming cups of herbal tea for the group, his expression grave as he looked at Christobal.
"The ravens... they were not a coincidence," Liu Fong spoke softly, leaning over the low wooden table. "I have been translating ancient texts regarding a ritual—one capable of summoning a special breed of spiritual guardians. They will be required to protect Post, Chris, and the soul of Storm Valley in the battles coming our way."
Liu Fong slid a handwritten scroll across the table toward the fortune teller. "Take it, Christobal. Memorize the incantation, and use it whenever you feel the city needs them most."
